It strips armor, opens weak points, and lets the squad do real damage after that. Anvil is less flashy, but it's reliable, cheap enough to risk, and great for breaking parts. Aphelion sits in that sweet spot where PvE power and PvP safety meet.
Strong Choices With Clear Trade-Offs
Ferro and Torrente belong just below the top group because they can do good work, but they're not as forgiving. Ferro has the punch to help with tougher ARCs, especially when you're landing careful shots instead of spraying into armor. Still, it can feel slow when smaller machines start crowding you. Torrente gives you steadier pressure and can chew through targets if you manage the rhythm well. The issue is comfort. It's not always the best at range, and against heavier machines you'll notice the difference between "good enough" and truly built for the job. These are weapons you bring when you understand their limits, not because you expect them to solve every fight.
The Middle Tier Is Usable, Not Magical
Venator, Arpeggio, Tempest, Renegade, Osprey, and Bettina can all kill ARCs, sure. Nobody's saying they're useless. The problem is what they cost you while doing it. Some burn too much ammo. Some struggle to crack armor fast enough. Some feel fine against smaller drones, then suddenly feel miserable when a larger machine soaks everything and keeps walking. They're decent for early farming, casual runs, or backup duty, but they're not the guns most players want when a boss fight gets ugly. If you bring one, aim carefully. Don't just hold the trigger and expect the machine to fall apart.
Weapons That Fit PvP Better Than PvE
Stitcher, Bobcat, Il Toro, Vulcano, and Kettle can be fun against people, but ARCs don't care about fun. They punish short range, weak penetration, and poor ammo value. Rattler, Hairpin, and Burletta fall even lower for PvE because they ask too much and give too little back. You might still use them in a pinch, especially if you're broke or just trying to extract with scraps, but they shouldn't be your plan for serious machine hunting.
